Prevention Before Intervention

CardioGrade is the U.S. and Mexico distributor for Integrated Medicine of the HealthSTATS BPro® Radial Pulse Wave Acquisition Device. This non-invasive, FDA-approved device uses pulse wave technology to measure Central Aortic Systolic Pressure (CASP) and radial Augmentation Index (rAI) with clinical accuracy.

The patented A-PULSE CASP® software generates a report showing how the patient’s measurements compare to specific age groups.

casp computer 393x313 custom TechnologyThese measurements — CASP and rAI — identify cardiovascular health and arterial stiffness far better than standard brachial cuff blood pressure. Health professionals affirm that it gives them the ability to see and prevent cardiovascular disease before it devastates patients.

Device Description

The revolutionary, non-invasive BPro® device allows medical practitioners and researchers to acquire highly reproducible and accurate real-time arterial pulse wave data. These breakthroughs are achieved both by innovative hardware design and software algorithm of patented EVBP® technology.

With its ease of use and integrated application software package BPro® makes real-time arterial pulse wave measurements the standard of medical care for the early health management of hypertension and related illnesses.

Device Capabilities with Integrated Application Software Package

casp report2 Technology(I) A 24-hr macroscopic view of BP patterns, including blood pressure, heart rate, mean arterial pressure, and pulse pressure.

BPro® is the first device in the world that uses applanation tonometry methodology to capture 24-hr blood pressure readings. It takes the blood pressure measurement even without the wearer knowing about it.

(II) Real time microscopic arterial pulse waveform analysis.

Using the BPro® and the pulse wave analysis application software, one is able to acquire real time arterial pulse wave data and translated this waveforms into clinically diagnostic related indices.

Every clinician now has a very powerful tool for complete assessment of the status of the arterial tree of patients, including evidence-based approaches in the treatment and management of pulse wave related illnesses.

BPro® Approved by the FDA & Validated by AAMI & ESH

BPro® has been approved by the U.S. FDA and validated independently by the National Heart Centre of Singapore in compliance with the protocols set by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and European Society of Hypertension (ESH).

BPro® EVBP® Software Technology

BPro® incorporates a patented technology: Modified Applanation Tonometry, or what is known as EVBP® technology. EVBP® stands for Evidence-Based Blood Pressure. Tonometry was first used for the measurement of pressure in the eyeballs. HealthSTATS BPro® ABPM device implements the measurement at the radial artery of the wrist. (see illustration below).

How It Works

The figure below shows the cross section of the wrist that the BPro® is secured to by means of a wrist strap, similar to a watch in application.

BPro-tech NEW

The sensor plunger impinges upon the radial artery over the radius bone. The patented plunger system design is hemispherical in profile, and transfers pressure forces efficiently to the internal pressure sensor and provides a safe, comfortable patient interface.

The wrist strap system is specially designed to ensure that the sensor system mounts comfortably on the radial artery position. At the same time, together with the sensor housing, it provides constant applanation to the artery without compromising the comfort of the wearer.

The strap system also takes into consideration in allowing for venous return at both the watch head and housing, and also avoiding any median nerve compression.

With the above features, a non-invasive reliable and accurate radial pulse wave is acquired.

As shown in figure above, BPro® is a watch-like device worn on the patient’s wrist. It is easy to use and mount on the wearer’s radial artery.
